Health & Safety at NG Healthcare – An A to Z Guide
Jo Carnwell, Home Manager, and Peter Chivers have overall responsibility for Health and Safety.
Each Unit has at least one Health and Safety Co-ordinator and Fire Warden – MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHO YOURS IS.
Unit Managers are responsible for:
• Nominating and appointing appropriate individuals to become Health and Safety Co-ordinators and Fire Wardens.
• Ensure that regular safety inspections are undertaken and receive reports on findings.
• Ensure that there is a policy which sets out department arrangements for:
• Reporting of accidents and incidents.
Assessing and controlling risks.
•
• Ensure all new staff receive an induction and all staff are sent on regular training courses.
Every Individual has a duty to:
• Take care of their own Health and Safety
• Not to compromise the Health and Safety of others
