Your safety – staying safe

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

There are three main hazards associated with electricity.

1

Contact with live parts

2

Fire

Severe shock, burns and even death can result from quite small currents.

Portable electrical appliances are not allowed on site unless they have been inspected and tested periodically under the Portable Appliance Testing Scheme – this includes new items.

Always use equipment correctly. Visually inspect equipment before you plug it in. If you find cables or plugs either damaged or incorrectly fitted, reject the equipment.

Always report faults.

Dry hands carefully before touching a plug

Do not overload sockets as this could cause a fire
