Your safety – staying safe
Your safety – staying safe
PERSONAL SAFTEY
If you walk home avoid if possible walking alone. Walk in the centre of the pavement away from bushes and shop doors, walk towards oncoming traffic, this way you will be fully aware if a car stops near you. Try to avoid subways wherever possible. If you think you are being followed, cross the road, if you are still worried, go to a busy area like a pub, garage or restaurant to ask for help. Carrying a personal alarm might make you feel more confident and give you a few vital seconds to get away. An alarm is no substitute for common sense and forward planning.
Never let yourself be lead away from an area where there are people, who might be able to help you.
